My Instruments
Why does which harp you use matter? Or something about your attachment to them. Is Giselle your first harp?
Meet the Harps
Giselle
Abigail’s primary harp is a 36 string lever harp, known as Giselle. The harp was made in 2007 by Thormahlen Harps.
Abigail uses this harp to teach lessons and perform. She has had Giselle for over a decade. Giselle has traveled to North Carolina, Texas, and all over Upstate South Carolina.
Even though she is a second hand harp, Giselle still has plenty of life in her, including her retrofitted amp hook up.
Leonard
Abigail’s second harp is a 26 string, mahogany wood, lever harp known as Leonard. It was made in 2002 by Blevins Instruments.
Leonard has a crack on his soundboard which has been professionally reinforced. The unique blemish inspired his name, a reference to a Leonard Cohen lyric: “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
Leonard is currently available for students to rent. They can take the harp home to practice on.
